Identity verification
This notice supplements our Privacy Policy and applies when you choose the Plaid verification flow.
Effective date: October 26, 2026
Information and purpose
Plaid verifies your identity using the details, identity document and selfie you provide directly to Plaid. Plaid may use facial comparison and liveness checks to help prevent impersonation.
If you connect a bank account, Plaid shares account-holder information so Boxcar can compare the selected account with your verified identity. Your bank login is entered with Plaid or your bank, not Boxcar.
Boxcar keeps verification references, statuses, consent records, masked account details and comparison results for account security and payout review. We do not store document images, selfies, biometric templates, bank passwords, full account numbers or balances in this integration.
You can disconnect your bank or withdraw this verification consent in Payouts. We then stop using the connection and retain only the records needed for reviews, security and applicable obligations. Withdrawing does not automatically delete information Plaid holds; contact support for a deletion request.
Verification does not approve a payout or establish ownership of a business. Staff review is still required, including the separate payment-provider bank, tax and payee checks.
Your choices
Review Plaid’s End User Privacy Policy and any notices shown during its verification flow before providing information.
We stop using a bank connection for verification after 30 days. You can also disconnect it sooner. A new check may be needed after an identity change. Verification results are reviewed separately from payout eligibility and payment-provider readiness.
To ask about access, correction, deletion, or an alternative verification method, contact Boxcar support. Do not send identity documents or bank credentials by email.
