Maximum Loss Limit: the account boundary

The Maximum Loss Limit (MLL) is the drawdown distance below the account's highest qualifying balance. The loss floor rises as that balance rises and never moves back down. Touching the floor breaches the account.

With EOD drawdown, the floor follows the highest end-of-day balance. With intraday drawdown, it follows the highest real-time balance, including unrealized profit. The current floor still applies while you trade, including on EOD accounts.

Prime / Scale / Payout$1,000$2,000$3,000$4,500

When the floor stops trailing

The initial trail balance is starting balance + Maximum Loss Limit + $100. Once the account clears it, the loss floor locks at starting balance + $100. A loss afterward does not move that floor lower.

Example: a $50K account with a $2,000 MLL begins with a $48,000 floor. Clearing the $52,100 initial trail balance locks the floor at $50,100. An intraday account can reach a higher floor through open profit, even if it closes the trade lower.

Daily Loss Limit: a session lockout

A DLL limits losses for one trading session. Hitting it closes positions and prevents trading until the next session; it does not by itself breach the account. The MLL still applies, so reaching the MLL first is a hard breach.

Prime, Scale and Payout offer an optional DLL selected at purchase. BoxcarFunded has size-based settings with no purchase toggle. The DLL does not trail behind intraday gains.

Later DLL changes on Prime and BoxcarFunded

On Prime funded accounts with a DLL, and BoxcarFunded sizes that have one, closing above the initial trail changes the DLL to 60% of peak end-of-day profit. It can only increase. This is a between-session calculation based on profit, not 60% of the full account balance.

BoxcarPayout keeps its selected fixed DLL in both stages. Its funded drawdown is always intraday, regardless of the Eval setting.
